The Maryland Policy Forums have been established to bring the best of impartial scholarly research to bear on significant issues of public policy affecting Maryland. They are a joint venture of the Maryland Budget and Tax Policy Institute and the University of Maryland School of Public Affairs.

This Maryland Policy Forum will focus on crime prevention strategies and programs. The presenter will be criminologist Lawrence Sherman of the University of Pennsylvania, formerly Chair of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland, College Park.
